Martin Named Safety Award Winner

The Portage County Safety Council recently named several top local companies in its Workplace Safety Program. Chip Ottman, General Manager, accepted the “100% Award” on behalf of R. W. Martin and staff for “Outstanding Workplace Safety Performance” in 2009. Martin employees collectively worked over 40,000 hours with zero injuries resulting in a day or more away from work. "As longtime advocates of our organization's safety program, this award is a reflection of our employee staff actively promoting workplace safety awareness." said Shawn Martin, company President. The Portage County Safety Council is one of nearly 80 safety councils in Ohio sponsored by the Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation Division of Safety and Hygiene with administrative support from the American Red Cross of Portage County. Safety councils present safety awards to qualifying businesses throughout Ohio to promote greater interest in the prevention of occupational accidents and disease. Members with the highest safety records are honored at annual awards events. Congratulations Team Martin!
