General Purpose of the Job:

The purpose of the Shipping Coordinator position is to manage and perform all aspects of company machinery, parts, and supply shipping and receiving, both onsite and from supplier and seller locations. In addition, this team member will meet all seven of the R.W. Martin Core Values to ensure they function as a cooperative member of our team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

An R.W. Martin team member is primarily responsible for effectively completing all duties and responsibilities listed below to support their coworkers in accomplishing the company’s objectives.

• Manage and supervise all machinery receipt and delivery logistics ensuring safe and professional transfer

• Manage and perform all Parts Department shipping and receiving functions

• Develop and maintain preferred Freight Broker contacts and relations

• Solicit freight rates for Job/Acquisition cost estimating as requested by Parts, Sales, and Acquisitions

• Select Broker and coordinate truck schedules for all off-site equipment acquisitions and for all completed Jobs upon notification of Job completion

• Stage machinery and perform and manage all truck loading and unloading. Safely load equipment onto trucks, assist driver with proper strapping guidelines, and take photos documenting machine condition

• Work directly with Riggers and/or Sellers regarding the proper rigging and packaging of equipment to ensure machines are not damaged during disassembly and removal

• Inspect all machinery on each incoming shipment, checking for damage and documenting all findings in a manner that allows for a proper and timely freight claim

• Prepare and properly package all machinery for completed Jobs and parts orders ensuring safe transport and customer satisfaction

• Develop guidelines and create Job aids regarding proper methods for packaging machinery for transport by machine type, as well as proper strapping guidelines for freight carriers

• Use customer service abilities to clearly coordinate freight plans and instructions with customers and third-party rigging companies

• Accurately produce all documentation for parts, machinery, and supply shipments

• Organize and maintain all shipping and receiving workspaces to ensure clean, safe workspace for all team members

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide back-up support for inventory/Acquisition Team and Shop Operations as needed

• Communicate effectively with coworkers through cooperation and encouragement

General Requirements:

• Forklift certified. Experienced at rigging and loading larger machinery

• Familiarity with shipping procedures of both larger shipments and parcel shipping

• Ability to coordinate logistics with brokers and carriers and provide shipping details for both freight companies and customers

• Must have the ability to develop plans to prioritize and accomplish work

• Must possess the ability to improve skills knowledge and add value to the company and our customers on a daily basis

• Maintain a good natured, cooperative attitude and help foster a positive work environment

• Able to work under pressure with limited time, direction, and guidance to complete work in a timely and accurate manner. Job requires persistence in the face of obstacles

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma (or equivalent), several years of work experience OR an equivalent combination of education and work experience is desired.

Safety equipment is required at all times including but not limited to: uniforms, safety eye wear, masks, gloves, respirators, leather shoes or boots, hard hats, fall protection, and ear protection.

General working hours are 40 hours per week with occasional overtime as approved by Manager.

Credentials:

• Must possess own hand tools and keep in safe working condition

• Certification in Forklift Operation required (training will be provided)

• Must possess a valid motor vehicle license

• OSHA 10 (and possible 30) Hour Construction Safety Courses (training will be provided)

The ideal candidate for this Industrial Machinery Technician job repairs, maintains, and tunes industrial machinery including production machinery and finishing equipment for the commercial textile processing industry.

Position: TRAVELING FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN
Department: Operations Manager
Location: Kent, Ohio

General Purpose of Job:

To provide proactive, valuable onsite and remote technical service and support to customers in an effort to maintain productive and efficient operations.

This employee’s home base will be out of the home office in the eastern half of the United States. A weekly schedule we be provided detailing scheduled work for the upcoming week. Periodically, ‘short-notice’ trips will be required. Position will:

• Travel to customer locations to troubleshoot and repair commercial laundry equipment

• Travel to locations to provide preventative maintenance service and support for long term preventative maintenance contracts

• Provide remote phone and video call support to customers requiring assistance

• Travel to locations to evaluate equipment to potentially purchase for resale

• Frequent travel to company headquarters to provide support for in-house orders and project support

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Includes the following (other duties may be assigned):

• Always provide exceptional customer service and support in an effort to help our customers grow their operations

• Diagnose equipment operational issues and develop a solution that minimizes the customer’s downtime

• Perform electrical/mechanical support and troubleshooting both in the field and over the phone

• Must be able to be innovative, proactive, and maintain a “customer first” approach to all situations

• Visually inspect, install, and test machinery and equipment

• Interview staff and management to gain a full perspective of the issues and ensure we provide the complete solutions

• Develop a plan for repair and expedite all aspects of the project to minimize customer downtime

• Solicit and acknowledge feedback in order to ensure information from the most experienced personnel has been acknowledged and incorporated into the solution

• Provide work orders/reports for customers and company that clearly indicate issues discovered, work performed, and follow-up actions required

Capabilities:

• Ability to manage, perform and complete equipment installation projects

• Strong working knowledge of install and repair of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components and systems of commercial laundry equipment

• Troubleshoot and develop plan for completing repairs

• Ability to Inspect equipment and provide assessments recommending work

• Reading electrical, mechanical, and layout blueprints

• Working knowledge of utility systems within commercial laundries
